Ways to Get Involved:

Are you interested in the history of the Diocese of Columbus? The Catholic Record Society of the Diocese of Columbus is looking for new members. The Catholic Record Society is an organization dedicated to research, preservation, presentation, and publication of materials pertaining to events, persons, organizations and places historically associated with the Diocese of Columbus.

One of the Society’s objectives is to make known the works of the Church by bringing into better light the heroism of the missionaries, nuns and the lay people who laid the foundation of today’s Diocese of Columbus. The Society supports the Diocesan Archives, which preserves the official records of the Diocese. Meetings of the Society are held quarterly and always include a presentation on Diocesan history. The public is always invited to attend.

Some of the ways members can get involved are below, but there are many more.

Bulletin Editor Needed

Don has been the Editor now for longer than some of our members have been alive.  He really needs someone to pass the torch to. The job is not to write for the Bulletin but to orchestrate it's publication: Select the articles, direct the layout, coordinate the printing, etc.

As the Bulletin is the "crown jewel" of the Record Society, it's Editor is a very important position. Please consider the Society's need. If you are able to volunteer for this position, please .

We are Blessed to have been given about 800 orphan records from the old St. Joseph Orphanage. If you have Microsoft Excel and some patience, one hour is about what it takes to transcribe a group of about 50 of them.  Volunteers would be greatly appreciated.  Click here for more info.

Site Updates:

1. The Barquilla de la Santa Maria Subject Index now includes 2003-2005 - so it is complete for 1975-2005!  We also added links to it that should help in navigating through the lengthy page.

2. See the additions to our Projects page.
